The game was announced on August 25, 2026 at gamescom Opening Night Live. That announcement confirms the project and its planned platforms, rather than a launch day. A reveal date should not be confused with a release date, so this page keeps the two milestones separate.

What the Nintendo Switch 2 2027 listing means

Nintendo’s US store lists 2027 for the digital Nintendo Switch 2 version. It does not list a month or day, and the listing is specific to that platform’s store page. It is useful as a confirmed window for that version, but it is not evidence of a worldwide launch year or a synchronized four-platform release.

Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2 are all announced platforms. Confirmed timeline

The verified timeline is deliberately short. On August 25, 2026, Paradox Interactive, Iceflake Studios, and the LEGO Group announced LEGO® Skylines at gamescom Opening Night Live. The official announcement also said the game could be wishlisted, which is different from being released or available to pre-order.

At the August 31, 2026 verification date, Steam showed Coming soon and said the game was not yet available. The official FAQ still said that no release date had been announced. Nintendo’s US store was the only verified store source here with a year, and that year was 2027 for Nintendo Switch 2 only.

What players can do before launch

Wishlist tracking is the currently confirmed action. The official announcement and Steam listing point players toward the wishlist flow, so it is a practical way to receive store updates without guessing at a date. Pre-orders are not open yet, and no official edition, price, or bonus has been published.
