Current LEGO Skylines release date status
There is not yet a single global release date to put on a calendar. Paradox Interactive’s official FAQ says that a date has not been announced, while the Steam listing marks the game as Coming soon and says it is not yet available. Those two sources answer the main question directly: LEGO® Skylines is announced, but it has not reached a dated launch stage.
The game was announced on August 25, 2026 at gamescom Opening Night Live. That announcement confirms the project and its planned platforms, rather than a launch day. A reveal date should not be confused with a release date, so this page keeps the two milestones separate.
What the Nintendo Switch 2 2027 listing means
Nintendo’s US store lists 2027 for the digital Nintendo Switch 2 version. It does not list a month or day, and the listing is specific to that platform’s store page. It is useful as a confirmed window for that version, but it is not evidence of a worldwide launch year or a synchronized four-platform release.
Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2 are all announced platforms. Their store timing can change independently, and this fan-made reference will not turn a single-store listing into a promise for the other versions. Check the linked official pages when a purchase date matters.
Confirmed timeline
The verified timeline is deliberately short. On August 25, 2026, Paradox Interactive, Iceflake Studios, and the LEGO Group announced LEGO® Skylines at gamescom Opening Night Live. The official announcement also said the game could be wishlisted, which is different from being released or available to pre-order.
At the August 31, 2026 verification date, Steam showed Coming soon and said the game was not yet available. The official FAQ still said that no release date had been announced. Nintendo’s US store was the only verified store source here with a year, and that year was 2027 for Nintendo Switch 2 only.
What players can do before launch
Wishlist tracking is the currently confirmed action. The official announcement and Steam listing point players toward the wishlist flow, so it is a practical way to receive store updates without guessing at a date. Pre-orders are not open yet, and no official edition, price, or bonus has been published.
Following the official LEGO Skylines channel and Paradox’s official game page can help players spot the next announcement. Community Discord and Reddit links exist, but they are community-run rather than official sources, so they are not used here to confirm release timing.
What remains unannounced
There is no verified worldwide day, month, season, or cross-platform date. There is also no official confirmation that all announced platforms will launch at the same time. The Nintendo 2027 listing must remain scoped to its Switch 2 storefront until Paradox or the other official platform stores say more.
Price, pre-orders, editions, and launch bonuses are likewise pending. A date appearing on a third-party shop, an old search snippet, or an unaffiliated social post is not enough to replace this status. This page will change only after a directly attributable official announcement or a verified official store update.
How this page checks a date
This page treats a date as confirmed only when it appears in an official Paradox announcement, the official FAQ, or an official platform store listing. A reveal, a wishlist page, and a purchasable release are different milestones. A reseller listing, social post, or search snippet is not enough evidence for a release-date update here.
The verified sources give three separate signals: Paradox says no exact date has been announced, Steam says Coming soon, and Nintendo’s United States store has a year for the Switch 2 digital version. None provides a worldwide day or proves that every platform will launch together. Keeping each claim tied to its source prevents a useful-looking but incorrect countdown.
If an official source later adds a day and month, this page will state the platform or region named by that source. If a statement applies worldwide, that scope can be written plainly. If it applies only to one store, that limitation will stay beside the date rather than being generalized.
Platform timing at a glance
Steam is an announced PC destination, but its store page still identifies the game as Coming soon and not yet available. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S are also confirmed future platforms through the official materials. Those confirmations establish where LEGO® Skylines is planned to appear; they do not supply a release sequence or a shared launch date.
Nintendo Switch 2 is the one platform with a verified year on its official United States store page: 2027. The page does not give a month or day, and does not establish an equivalent 2027 window for Steam, PlayStation 5, or Xbox Series X|S. This guide deliberately keeps the wording narrow.
No verified source says that any platform is already playable. This is why “Coming soon,” “announced,” and “wishlist” appear instead of an availability claim. When launch information changes, the exact wording and scope matter more than an extrapolated calendar date.
Questions still waiting for an answer
The official material does not currently answer whether there will be early access, a staggered regional rollout, a preload, or a launch-time announcement. It also does not provide a final storefront price, edition list, or pre-order date. These related planning questions must not be filled in while the primary sources remain silent.
For players deciding when to budget or arrange time to play, the responsible answer is TBD rather than an estimate. The wishlist option is the confirmed way to receive a store update before a purchase page is available. Our price guide and pre-order guide keep their own pending status so future updates remain properly scoped.

How this guide handles unannounced details
This fan-made reference uses the official materials linked on this page and keeps each claim within the scope of its source. A store listing can confirm a platform or a published field, but it cannot confirm an unlisted date, price, feature, or performance result.
When an official source has not supplied a detail, this guide uses TBD or Pending rather than an estimate. That includes any information that could change before launch, such as availability, editions, specifications, online features, or platform support.
Check the source links before making a purchase or hardware decision. LEGO Skylines Wiki is not affiliated with the LEGO Group, Iceflake Studios, or Paradox Interactive, and it will update only when attributable official information becomes available.
